So I’ve really been getting into photography lately and learning a lot on my free time, in particularly how to edit and use color curves. I love the look that’s achieved SOOC with a lot of the popular Fujifilm recipes. For me, as a Fujifilm x100vi owner, the downside so far has been learning a whole new system since I’ve gotten so used to Sony over the last year or so. Also, I can’t say I’m in love with the fixed lens. Anyway, there’s a bunch of reasons I’ve been using my X100VI less and less, and my iPhone camera more.
Even so, I loved some of the pictures I took with my x100vi and the fact that they weren’t edited, the color was just gorgeous right away.
Color wise, I wanted to be able to achieve something similar with my iPhone, as well as my Sony. So I’ve been practicing a lot using Lightroom Mobile on my phone. These are some of the results. I’ll go ahead and post before and afters of each photo. These were all taken on my iPhone 15 Pro Max. Soon, I’ll attempt the same thing with some photos I took on my Sony A7iii.
The Shots
I love how this turned out. The colors are rich, and with a bit of dehazing I think it’s got a bit of a dreamy glow which I really enjoy.
I know this look might not be for everyone, but I’m currently obsessing over these rich tones. It definitely reminds me of the photos I took with my Fujifilm X100VI, which you can find in this post. More coming soon.
I love the nostalgia I get when looking at the edited version. That’s my goal with these edits. Some pictures really move me and inspire me and I hope I can improve enough to also evoke happy feelings onto others. I’m still pretty new at this but overall I’m happy with how much I’ve improved and learned so far.
If you’re interested in the edits I made to achieve this look, let me know in the comments and I’ll share my settings!
