I have successfully gifted the pickiest person on Earth for 5 consecutive Christmases things that he loves and uses daily. This year was a bit more difficult as I was starting to run out of ideas, but after researching a bunch I was still able to find him something super useful that he uses often.
Make it Meaningful
It’s important to note that a lot of these gifts aren’t cheap. These are gifts I’ve given my significant other, so I usually do spend at least a couple hundred dollars. However, it’s possible to find cheaper alternatives. Just be sure to read reviews. A lot of options for a variety of products that you see on Amazon are dupes for their better alternatives, or items from Temu or Alibaba being rebranded. So I highly suggest vetting brands a bit before making bigger purchases! But for this list, I’ve made sure to only link products I’ve personally gifted that were well received. One of my love languages is gift-giving, so I always try to make my gifts special and well thought out. Hope you find something they’ll love!

A Massage Gun
If your giftee is getting more into fitness, then this is an excellent gift. If you’re on a budget, not to worry, there are massage guns as low as $50, and high-end guns go for over $399 if you want to splurge. I got my partner this Theragun in 2019 and he still uses it in 2024.
An Oura Ring
The Oura Ring was a huge success when I gifted it to Tim who struggles with sleep. He was able to monitor his sleeping patterns and improve his overall quality of sleep using their app. The only downside is that their app is paid, around $5 a month. It came with a free 6-month trial when I purchased ours.
An Apple Watch
An Apple Watch is the perfect gift if the person you’re shopping for doesn’t already have one. If they do, consider gifting them a MyFitnessPal Subscription to go with it if they’re starting to hit the gym or learning about eating better! It was such a gamechanger for me and Tim when we were tracking our macros and calorie intake.
Silk Sleepwear (Nice Pajamas)
I started wearing nice pajamas last year and it’s my latest obsession. Anytime I go thrifting, I always check the pajama section, in search on silk slips or pajama sets. They’re hard to find thrifted. So, consider gifting them some comfy, high-end silk pajamas from Lunya. Their silk sets are so incredibly comfortable and something most of us might feel guilty purchasing for ourselves due to the high ticket price, but they make for a thoughtful and useful gift. Their silk sleep masks are also a perfect stocking stuffer.
If they’re vegan or prefer cotton, organic cotton pajamas are also a great option.
A Bidet
This is not a joke, the bidet I got Tim is seemingly his favorite gift so far. He refuses to use the other bathrooms in our home without one in them (we only have 1, so he only uses that bathroom). I got him this one from HelloTushy. Truly the best!
A Weighted Blanket
This gift was a lifesaver not only for my partner but also for our 4-year-old daughter. She went from taking 30-minute to 1-hour naps, to napping 3-4 hours during naptime consistently. They are truly game-changers. I highly recommend this one by Bearaby if you’ve got the budget, if you’re looking for something that won’t break the bank, check out this one by Waowoo on Amazon.
A Sound Machine
My partner loved this gift. He suffers from sleep apnea so basically, anything that improves his sleep quality even slightly is highly appreciated and used nightly. The Hatch Restore serves several purposes: it’s a sound machine, an alarm clock, and a smart sleep light, so you really get your money’s worth.
The 5-Minute Journal (+Accessories)
So I actually gifted this to myself and loved it so much that I’ll be gifting it to close family members this year. The 5-Minute Journal is a brilliant concept and a self-care gift that will truly work for most, especially if they’re just starting their healing process. Journaling has massive benefits to not only your mental health but also your productivity. And I promise, after using The 5-Minute Journal for even just one week, you’ll realize why it’s so popular. This is a really great self-care gift idea for just about anyone but especially for people that are at the beginning of their wellness journey since it helps tremendously with brain fog and decluttering our minds. The other products they offer are also incredibly useful and inspiring. I personally also purchased their hourglass, which helps me complete tasks and stay focused (Yay ADHD).
Fancy Steel Water Bottle
I used to be one of those people that just reused plastic water bottles over and over. Until I learned more about why that’s not recommended. So I always recommend gifting friends/family/partners a nice steel water bottle. Specifically, a Yeti tumbler. I prefer these over the overhyped Stanleys because there is no lead, and the quality is just great. This is another gift I got for myself after seeing how useful it was for my sister, and Tim. I previously had another steel water bottle but it didn’t fit in my car’s cup holder so it was pretty inconvenient. This one, however, is perfect. The YETI Rambler 30 oz Stainless Steel Tumbler is one of the best things I purchased this year and I use it daily.
Ember Coffee Mug
This is actually a bonus gift I am adding as I update this post in 2024. I haven’t personally gifted this, but I plan on doing so this year. I have a feeling he’s going to love it. We both have a tendency of forgetting about our drinks (tea, coffee) until they get cold, so this solves that problem as it keeps drinks warm. A perfect gift for anyone who sits at a desk for long periods of time.
A Kindle E-Reader (+ Gift card)
This was a self-gift because I often found myself picking up my phone to read on the Kindle app, only to wind up doom-scrolling moments after. I love how light and easy it is to buy books, and read them anywhere. It’s backlit too, so you don’t need to worry about reading in the dark which is when I usually have time to read!
Self-Improvement Books
Last but not least on this Self-Care Gifting Guide is self-improvement books. The great thing about this one is that you don’t have to pick just 1 book. There are literally thousands of self-improvement books for every aspect of life. Whether your giftee is trying to be more minimalist, less anxious, or make more friends, there is a self-improvement book for that. I haven’t gifted this to my partner yet, but this year I’ve let him borrow these books of mine and I’ll be gifting him a couple more in the near future!

Notable Mentions
To keep the list short and only include gifts I’ve personally gifted in the past or used so can vouch for, I’m going to list some other notable mentions here if you still haven’t found the perfect gift:
- Sleep Spray
- CBD Tinctures
- Massage Vouchers
- Gift Cards
- Slippers (Underrated)
- Silk Pillows
- Yearly Gym Membership
- Electric Tea Kettle
- Blue Light Glasses
- Standing Desk

Finally, these last few ideas are pretty straight-forward gifts that aren’t really self-care related as they are gaming related, but they could still improve your gamer’s experience and have potential physical health benefits. Here’s the bonus list:
- Ergonomic Gaming Keyboard
- Ergonomic Gaming Mouse
- Wrist Rest for Mousepad
- Standing Desk
- Blue Light Glasses
- Back/Neck Foam Roller (for nerd-neck)
- A Chiropractor Membership/Voucher
